I just got news today, that Don S. Davis has passed away. He died on Sunday due to a massive heart attack. For those of you who don't know, Don S. Davis was an actor and played as General George Hammond, a great guy and father figure to many, on Stargate SG-1. He held a main cast role for the first seven years of SG-1, but needed to quit due to health issues. hammond was was pretty cool dude on SG-1! like i said, he was father figure to many of the SGC (Stargate Command). Especially with the members of SG-1. Whenever one of the team members went missing (which wasn't to unusual, with all of them being such trouble magnets) he never gave up! but that wasn't just with SG-1! he showed true sincerity and desperation when it came to any of the men and women working under him... i'm gonna miss him. He was the general and the CO of SGC when i first started watching SG-1. yeah, General Landry, the man who took his place as General of the SGC, is cool and all, but he's not Hammond! HE was the General when SG-1 first began their trips through Stargate as "peaceful explorers" for Earth!
I'm just glad that he was able to make a cameo appearance in the new Stargate SG-1 movie coming out, "Continuum" before his passing.
